Why families choose Lorilee

Choosing a music teacher is mostly an act of trust. So here are the people who have already made that choice — and, underneath, the record behind it.

What families say

Every review below was written by someone who studied with Lorilee, or whose child did. All of them met her in England, across her years teaching there. The studio is in California now; the teaching is the same.

Lorilee taught me piano from the time I had my very first lesson until I went to university to study music! She got me through all of my exams and taught me in the most fun way possible! We always had such a good time with duets, Disney music and composing, and my wonderful experience with her as a teacher I am sure has led me to where I am now — I teach piano myself now and always hope I can inspire young learners as much as she did for me!

We love Miss Lorilee. She is such a blessing to not only my husband and I, but our son. It's so awesome that we have found a special lady with a passion for piano like my son has. She is very professional and full of energy with an everyday smile. We will be with Lorilee for a long time.

Derrill D. Parent

Lorilee is an amazing teacher with tremendous creativity and understanding. She still stands as a massive inspiration to me, which led me to choose music as a career path.

Georgia Odette Former student, now a professional singer

Lorilee is a truly brilliant teacher. She is intuitive and considerate. She is like a great friend rather than just a teacher. I wish we still lived close by as I can't find another teacher as good as her! I couldn't recommend her enough!

Lorilee was my daughter's piano and music teacher at her high school. She is full of life, and is a bubbly enthusiastic person. She lives for music. I have been to a few concerts in Manchester, England with my daughter and had attended a masterclass for the children by an eminent pianist. My daughter's knowledge of music and her piano playing had improved greatly. She is still studying music and engineering at her university.

Babu R. Parent

Amazing teacher and pianist — Lorilee makes learning the piano fun.

And the record behind it

Her students have gone the distance

Students of hers have gone on to win America's Got Talent and to perform on international stages. Most will not — but the teaching that got them there is the same teaching a beginner gets on day one.

Trained to teach, not just to perform

A Master's in Music Education from Trinity College London, plus music qualifications from the University of Puget Sound, and years teaching in British schools. She knows the Trinity and ABRSM exam systems from the inside, if a student wants that path.

A working musician

She has performed at Carnegie Hall with Sir Karl Jenkins, at Hereford Cathedral, and with the Bach Ensemble, the Hallé Orchestra, the Naples Philharmonic, and at the Verbier Festival.

Trusted here, right now

She conducts the Canyon Lake Choraleers and The Colony Chorus, and sings with the Temecula Valley Master Chorale. Two rooms full of Inland Empire singers chose her to lead them — that is a local reference you can go and hear.

Online is a craft, not a compromise

She founded Voce Virtuo, an international virtual choir. Teaching music well through a screen is a separate skill from teaching it in a room, and she went and learned it properly.

Every student welcome

Adaptive lessons for students with disabilities, all ages — at the same tuition as standard lessons. Specialized teaching is never a surcharge here.

Every review here is published with that person's written permission, under the name they chose.
